Background
Hello! My name is Nolan Hoppe-Leonard, founder and owner of Embodied Balance in Bellingham, WA. I began this journey in 2014 while taking Pilates from Jenevieve Neros (CPT) as a means of injury prevention in dance. Feeling the positive effects on my body even after just a few sessions, I was hooked.
In 2015, I had the privilege of studying with Karen Clippinger (Exercise Science Specialist and author of Dance Anatomy and Kinesiology), taking my first step towards becoming a BASI certified Pilates Instructor.
After several years of teaching, I found myself hungry to add onto my practice. That desire led me to attend the Massage Therapy program at Whatcom Community College to become a Licensed Massage Therapist.
Since beginning this journey in 2014, I have had the opportunity to work with a couple of clients with MS. After seeing the positive effects of this work on their lives, I felt drawn more and more towards working with clients affected by neurological conditions. In 2018, as a means to continue down that path, I was able to study with Meghann Koppele (Applied Physiology Specialist and Co-Founder of TheNeuroRehabMovement) to receive a teaching specialization geared towards applying Pilates to help clients with a range of neurological issues. Since then, I have found this training to be very applicable to everything that I do, and I am excited to continue utilizing it to best serve my clients!
Whether you're coming in with a kink in your neck, a neurological condition, to fine-tune certain movement patterns, or just to feel the many ways your body can move, it is my goal to offer the very best service to each client I meet!
